For the last week we have had an orca, 27 year-old T073B (known by some locals as “Jeff”) hanging out in the Comox Bay, gorging himself on harbour seals and creating quite the local spectacle. He waved his fin at us during Saturday morning’s OC6 practice and tonight’s Tuesday night race from Goose Spit should be interesting if he joins us – anyone raced an Orca before? Wonder if he’d want a beer after the race?
