<> ===== Mega Paddling Journeys ===== **Here's an interesting story\\ David Hooper** \\ 01/18/18 #22431 I haven’t read this yet, but it looks interesting – though not in your usual paddling magazine: https://www.vanityfair.com/style/2018/01/from-nazi-germany-to-australia-the-incredible-true-story-of-historys-longest-kayak-journey (//see Oskar Speck//) Dave H. **Reivers Dustin** \\ 01/18/18 #22432 cool story. For a while LB would tell the story of Hans Lindemann doing trans-atlantic in his klepper. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hannes_Lindemann I was worried that LB was going to try to duplicate the feat, but it seems a Polish man recently did. So LB just settled on doing 'the abuse', (Seattle to Bellingham in one go). The story behind Lindemann was a French guy, Bombard. Basically Lindemann though Bombard was too bombastic (bad humor). Here's the brief on that story: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alain_Bombard\\ \\ There's quite a bit more to these stories, but don't ask LB about it unless you have a fresh beer and time to drink it slow. rd **Larry Bussinger** \\ 01/19/18 #22433 If anyone has time and a fresh beer……….it's a good story. (Maybe two beers worth.)\\ Larry B **Ted Scherrer** 01/19/18 #22434 Made me think of David down under
