-It's unsupported... that needs clarifying; re the Vancouver Island record defines unsupported as absolutely ZERO replenishment from any source whatsoever, and thus the challenge remains unsolved. So by that standard no stopping by the Tides Tavern in Gig Harbor for a pizza, or a friendly hand off on shore. So maybe a touring double ski, if such a thing existed. Personally I "like" the idea of going single (like as in a cruel version of self-hate that is all ultra racing...). Physical breakdowns happen at unpredictable intervals with distances of this scale, so coordinating betwixt two fallible humans could be a surprising limiting factor. And feeding two and managing water is no small feat.+It's unsupported… that needs clarifying; re the Vancouver Island record defines unsupported as absolutely ZERO replenishment from any source whatsoever, and thus the challenge remains unsolved.  Superb race course. Killer idea. Hard to say if sailboats will have as much prevailing wind advantage as the Race to Alaska course offords them (certainly running 24/7 will tho). Superb race course.
