12/27/22 High Tide and Very Gusty

Reivers Dustin 12/27/22 #32966

Incredibly high water, never seen it that high. I sat at MP for a while but the gusts coming through were dang tough.

Weird to park and look at the water level just below the lawn.

This morning's flood peaked at 12.54ft at Cherry Point, almost 2ft higher than predicted: https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/waterlevels.html?id=9449424

The freaky water level, floating trees, and other factors almost dissuaded me, but since Dennis showed up for the shuttle, I figured it was go time.

Here’s Dennis’ footage of our run with my video editing and Paul’s excellent song choice. Go, team, Go!

Great video Denise. Thanks for the editing.
It was about the edge of survival & thriving = Crazy.
I kept thinking how crazy it was being out there yet having a “Blast” catching waves, just to keep moving forward. Amazing how fast the run was.
:D'

Gusts of 90mph yesterday at Viento! Glad we do not have king tides!
