C'mon dude, 14 mph just hand paddling? and a 20 sec run with no strokes starting at 5:02? – if the Lipp definition applies to no strokes only with a paddle then this guy must have set an all-time new Lipp record!

What is the Lipp record, anyway? Boyan has recorded at least 2 Lipp (1 Phat Lipp (aka 1 Tiptoe) = 60 seconds) runs on video….

Does the Lipp unit apply to downwinding only? (that would get my vote) and surfing shore, reef, bar breaks should be a separate category…

Seeing him paddle both sides of the canoe is the first time OC paddling made any sense to me!

And Zohan catching up with the jet ski was the first time the dolphin kick made sense to me

Once you're on a wave and going for a Lipp unit, the paddle is irrelevant, though it can be used as a sail. It's getting on the wave sans paddle that is the issue.
