Colder Weather Paddling Gear

So, Lavacore or Fireskin, or What?
Who's using something like the above whilst out in their skis now? I tried on a Lavacore T-shirt and it seemed mighty warm and kinda tight in the armpits (even tho it was an XL). Is Fireskin lighter? Is a vest a better option (due to the armpit factor)?
Do both stop or slow down the wind at all? Would you just wear that on top, or would you also wear a paddle jacket? [I know, I know - it depends]
I've been using a farmer john with a long sleeve NRS tech shirt and a paddle jacket. Sometimes that's too much; sometimes not enough.
Curious what other folks are doing.
And I need to get my order in to Santa, soon…
Thanks!

I've used Fireskin for surf ski paddling and sailing. I've got a short-sleeve and a long-sleeve. Today sailing, I used the short-sleeve and was warm despite light showers from time to time. It is a lot less bulky than traditional foul weather gear. When I paddle, I've used the Lavacore long sleeve alone or with a Mocke windbreaker. The combination seems to be wind proof and warm. I've not used a paddling jacket unless there are waves. No “armpit factor” with either one

Personal opinion here… They are the same thing. I have both and can tell no difference, as in they might be the exact same thing with a different logo. They reduce wind, and are great as a top over pants or farmer, shortsleeve suit, etc. I don't like swimming in them… Super cold this time of year, but if you re 95% sure you're not gonna take a dip, then they are pretty nice.
