Once again, what had an epic event. Dan B. pulled off another winner with some of the best youth K-1 and C-1 paddlers in both the U.S. and Canada. 47 races in all with distances ranging from 200 meters to 4000 meters. This year we had K-4's and C-4's burnin' up the lake. This was the second annual regatta featuring some of the top nationally ranked youth paddlers. Dan had a big hand from some locals like the Ecker family, David Schearer, Tom Swetish, the Scoggins crew, Dan C., Lance Romo, and a ton more of generous volunteers. What a great time for all. The Bellingham racers picked up fistfuls of ribbons with Anna Swetish grabbing 8 ribbons in of her 9 races, and Jonas Ecker and Cameron Bartlett coming out strong with a second in the 2K. One of youngest paddlers was Abby Scoggins and she placed high in every race she entered. Not bad for her first competition. You should have been there to see how scary fast some of the 16 and 17 year old K-1 and C-1 could fly down the lake.
