Dan Harris Preliminary Results

John Rybczyk
04/28/13 #14237

The list loses some of it's formatting here, we'll post it, all pretty-like, to our web page soon (http://www.danharrischallenge.com ). This would be a good time to notify my of any errors. Some names were not decipherable.

It was a good day for racing. South winds built through the day, so better surfing on the way back (and better for those at the back of the pack!). Thanks all for a good showing. W

DHC and Lots 'O' brats……

Hats-off to John and his crew for running such a great and safe race. Nice downwind ride back from the island too. However, the crowd was a bit disappointing - they ate only half of the 200 Hemplers brats. Since we have a surplus, let's have a Hot Dog social after the race this Wednesday. Anybody willing to donate their backyard and grill for a post race potluck? If not, I'll pick up some briquets and we'll have a party. I can make coconut brats, brats in a blanket, brat chow mein, brat fondue, beans and brats, brats and beans, brat salad, brat enchiladas, and my favorite, brat cream pie.
See you Wednesday

Add another to this!
Also, next year I will head out before the race and move that rock we found. If you want to know where I will put it, that'll cost you. On the bright side we found a nice little beach on which to take a break…

I've checked with Hilde and we want one last 'fling' this Wed. Most of you know we are moving so this will be the last paddle-party in this lakeside ave. house. We are in boxes getting ready. Bring the brats on. I've got six or ten wierd-beers that no one has drank from the last three years of paddle-parties. We drank all of the Maple-Bacon-Donut beer that LB likes so much. Park along the little cul-de-sac next door or in the driveway if you get here soon enough. It's 1841 Lakeside Ave.

Think International Challenge Score
John Rybczyk

04/28/13 #14245

Away from the madness, with the dog curled up at my feet and a frosty pint of Ninkasi Tricerahops at the ready, I re-calculated and recalculated again, the score for the Think International Challenge. Score for Race 1: USA 177, Canada 269 (lower score is better). This is fairly typical, the home team usually scoring much lower. Is this enough of a buffer for Team USA? Hard to tell. It will be very close. USA was helped by a large contingent (17!) of HPKs that finished out of the top 30, but earned negative participation points. Both teams had strong showings from their junior doubles (Fast/Fast and Nelson and Bumstead).
