As I sit parked undercover at Grainfield Kansas waiting out thunderstorms(hail and high winds just aren't suitable for K4 transport) I'm going to update everyone on the BHAM youth paddlers at Nationals this week.

They absolutely did amazing. 33 medals across a group of 6. Beyond medals, we just had a grand ol' time out here. Some highlights for me….

We swept the 5k clean off the map. Abby won the JUVW category, Emma won the JR category, Jonas won the JUVM and Ana/Elena cleaned up the K2 category. Whatcom paddlers…..that's all you….our Wednesday nighter trained that one up, so thank you to each of you for making our community special.

Other standard business was the sprints. And business was good. In cases where we weren't on the podium, it was close and top five. Big shoutout to Emma for making her first K1 200 podium finish at Nationals. Our K4s and K2s ruled the races over and over. Coleton McCoy(Emma's Bro) made a final in Bantam K2, so the next batch is already brewing.

So many awesome races, so many amazing finishes, too much to tell….next time you see one of them, ask them for their race stories.

Oh yeah, one more thing…..looks like Jonas, Emma, and Elena are heading to Poland in September for the Olympic Hopes Regatta. Wish them luck.

Winning on merrit in hard contested events is. a sign of a healthy program. Its great to see that you can combine the fun for paddling with the competitive spirit of the sport, in both surfski and other paddling events. congrats to your kids and good luck at the Hopes
