Great run today. building wind from the south. A little tough to get down to Whiskey Rock, but fantastic runners coming back to MP.

Coffee after was very important. Some of us are interested in survey of the best cookie in town. I'll let Duncan throw down because he had a favorite. Can't remember if it was Old World Deli or Mt Bakery.

Ground rule: not home made. These are cookies sold retail. Let's us not taunt each other with cookies we can't get. Or do the whole lame, “my cook can beat up your cook” thing.

1) My top favorite is the Peanut butter chocolate chip ones from the Whole Foods cookie bar. You gotta time it right because these have “been discovered” and often the first ones to get cleaned out.
2) Next favorite is the “Perfect Cocolate Chip” from the Food Coop. Note that these are about the same as the ones from Skagit Coop in Mt Vernon.
3) Honorable mention is the double chocolate chip right there at Avenue Bread. But same again these are one of the first species to go extinct in the morning.

I have a big list of also-rans, but maybe not turn this into a mess. Also, this important research really never ends. There might be a new discovery out there. In fact I'm hoping someone out there is a worse cookie-holic than me.
OK, your turn…

I’m kinda enamored with the gluten-free chocolate chip at the Co-op… not because gluten-free, but 100% tasty…

Honestly, currently there are no really good cookies being made commercially in town. Sometimes old world deli does a decent chocolate chip walnut but to taint a chocolate chip cookie with peanut butter is a crime against humanity Reivers. Still to my way of thinking the most ideal cookie is a chocolate chip , heavy with walnuts , relatively thin Can have just a touch of crispiness to it no dough taste

Dr. cookie used to make a really good cookie then he sold them to Alaska Airlines then they couldn’t afford it. That was Dr. Marvin Wayne my foiling buddy. the Mark against the food co-op, chocolate chip cookies is they put salt chunks on them which totally take away the taste of the real elements of the cookie. And that much salt isn’t good for you . soon reivers, I’ll make the perfect chocolate chip cookie for you and you’ll believe as John Travolta said in pulp fiction , damn , that’s a pretty good milkshake, referring to a milkshake to cost five dollars .

For all you alpine skiers, cross - country skiers, backcountry skiers, snowshoers, mountain bike riders, hikers, try the chocolate chip cookie at Wake ‘N Bake in Glacier. Duncan?

I’m going to throw down an easy to find option: Tate’s chocolate chip. The gluten free are crispier, so I like them better, Kevin sides with the regular Tate’s option.

I stopped by Old World Deli today after paddling, got all 3 cookies styles. The chocolate chip and the walnut pecan was OK, but the the dark chocolate covered caramel over a gram cracker is worth my vote.

Oh, there's a new ice cream at Whole Foods to go with them. Jeni's. So far I've only had two flavors but will have to try some more before I day they are better than B&J's.

Best after a good paddle.

I just found my favorite today: seeds, nuts, dried fruit, held together with a crispy honey glaze, a half covered with chocolate. Unfortunately, you'll need to travel to Stamatakis Bakery in Vryses, Crete to try them out. But delicious while hiking Imbros Gorge.
