Surfing in Traffic….

Pmarcus

Tonight with the wind blowing I loaded my “R” and went looking for the same “Nirvana” conditions that I stood by and watched on Tuesday afternoon….as the wind built I headed to the tunnel, did a U-turn and surfed back to the buoy and into the bay, quite good as the wave height steadily built. Headed South again to do another loop as the Thursday night sailboat races began, picked up Mike G. on the way, and we surfed back to the buoy again, but this time the fun was really starting…..as the lead race boats went around Post Pt. buoy and popped their spinnakers, Mike and I were able to catch quarter wakes on two of the faster boats! Awesome, I was literally just a few feet from the stern and quarter as I surfed alongside for a couple of miles into the bay, boats all around, chatting with the crew members(between breaths…). I don't think the skipper was too happy as the crew was watching us instead of the sails most of the time as we zigged and zagged right behind them….a total “GO Pro” moment, would have been great video. Awesome evening….

Cheers, Peter
