So much for that downwinder…

David Hooper

After a full day of field and lab work yesterday, and thereby missing the downwind opportunities everyone was yammering about, I was willing to forego today's (which Beau was waxing poetic about) because, well, it also just snowed a foot+ at the ski area, with more forecasted for today. My winter priorities being what they are, the choice was clear. But, when delivered the cruel report at 6 am that it was 32 degrees with mixed rain and snow and gusting to 40 mph at 4000 ft, I at least thought I could get some more sleep and enjoy a paddle in that magic window of lull after an all-night storm. But dang, I didn't expect completely dying winds and dumping rain. All. Day.

Mother Nature can be a tough mistress sometimes. Maybe she's upset by our unmitigated greenhouse gas farts under the atmospheric sheets.

Correction, I was Peter M., rather than Beau, who was waxing poetic! My apologies to both for the mis-attribution!

Ha! Thanks for that!
Me, I'm just pushing back the frontiers of science and educating our youth so they can save our planet. No biggie. You can thank me later…😉

On the plus side for today, I at least got my new gooseneck fixed so I can actually use it, hopefully to make videos as fun as yours!
