Great day on the Bay this morning with a brisk SW wind, and ironically the largest Saturday turnout despite being the coldest fall day of the season! I counted 7 OC-1 canoes, well over a dozen surskis, and no doubt some people whining about the Southwest winds.
FYI, when the wind is out of the Southwest, it is usually sloppy and nasty out of Marine Park, but can get ABSOLUTELY PERFECT from just outside the drydock to the Taylor Dock/ Woods Coffee area! Long, clean, nicely spaced, connectable bumps. Also, no eelgrass in that area today, but that was probably due to the dumping tide.
Sunday is looking to have some more wind, probably S or SE, so I'll see you guys somewhere out there on the Bay!

I got there late (11:00 am) and caught the weak ebb that started at around 10:30. The wind was more out of the south by then, and we caught some very, very nice long rides from Post Point north. Easy to catch and easy to connect. Very fun.

Some of us suspected there was a sweet spot. LG tried to find it,but the rebound off the dry dock masked. It's a bit perverse, but that slop n' chop is very good exposure. Each run helps build that confidence - even though it might not feel wonderful.
That SW stuff was not too bad. The dead Westerlies can be a bugger. Next time I'll try that stuff into the bay.
