Went at 10:30 and it was a little heavy, but do-able. Wind was gusty with easterly in it. The moderate ebb flow was established so there were whitecaps and good steep waves. The wind seemed to focus at the point.
Paddled down to the tunnel a couple of times. Hard work getting into the lee but great rides back. For some reason the waves were best from tunnel to dry-dock. Normally they seem best just right at Post Point. But today they did not carry well into the bay. Plus the wind made it hard to get back into the lee at MP.
My GPS max showed 11.4 - which is always a little sketchy. But the sustained rides were very good. When I was coming off the water the wind got much stronger. Thanks Marc for the hand getting boat on car. This went much better than watching three grown men running after Duncan's helium boat rolling across the lawn. Good catch MM. Didn't look like any damage to the boat. I bet LB, MM and Duncan have sore spots tomorrow. The thing really flew.
I guess the rumor is loose in the wild now. The other day I headed South with MM (Michael Medler) and we got to talking about leashes. I just then realized that I had failed to connect my waist leash to the running line on my boat. oops. Had to connect up at the next available beach.

The joint replacement team , 6 of us, were turning some hard laps in the gusty am wind today, and upon finishing I placed my GT in front of my van and MM's sprinter thinking thats plenty of wind break. Well given those about 40 mph gusts, it got hit and quickly started rolling across the lawn, and rolled and rolled. The dang thing was picking up speed, with all of us chasing it. I made a dive for it, just missed, and was left laying on the ground thinking it was going to lift off and land in the bay, and be gone. From the side however, big MM with 2 redone hips makes the best Cam Chancellor, ( Seahawks) move I've seen in a long time and gets it. Greg, those bow and stern handles also serve as roll bars along with the large surf rudder.., Can you believe it, no damage. Not even a mark.

Congrats Duncan, you have just discovered a new old white guy problem… owning a kayak so light and sexy even the wind will try and steal it.
Reminds me of a classic TV commercial about man of said dubious character… https://youtu.be/2mTLO2F_ERY
