I saw somebody (Gerstle?) dumping warm water on themselves after a paddle. Rumor is that all credit goes to Alan. As it always does. Anyway, decided to give it a try. I get painful hands and feet, sometimes takes many hours to warm. So what the heck.
This only seems to work with neoprene. Get hottest water you can into a one or two gallon bottle, wrap in towels or something. Then after paddle, pour the water inside the wetsuit and whamo. Warmth stays on the skin long enough to matter. As it drains into booties, I drain the booties a couple of times so a fresh shot of warm goes in there too.
I've noticed some of you curmudgeonly types have been looking at me like I'm doing a solo rave party. Frankly Scarlett … go get your own or don't. I only have enough hot water for me.
