what is 'sundowning'?

Well. It was pretty good. They say old age and treachery wins over youth and good looks. I'm here as a testement to that. I'm slightly younger and way better looking, so, you know. I didn't win.

We actually had a referee. And they are reviewing video as we speak. But unofficial results are that three of the tarnished goldens made it into the 27 club. LG, Duncan and LB made it, and I was ten seconds off. Just so everyone knows, I've never paddled faster. This was a PR by over 20 seconds for me. Some of the beachcombers were dialing 911 when we staggered over to the take out. But they called off the medics because our first words were lies about how we didn't draft or how a roge wave caused us to obstruct the other guy.

Best two out of three. it's not over.

LG - kicked out of the club for being too fast - 27:20
DH - crafty bastid (we're not sure if he cheated) - 27:45
LB - died on the course but didn't quit paddling - 27:50
RD - blew a head gasket & didn't quit paddling - 28:10
MG - played bumper boats & didn't quit paddling - ? not clocked.

Duncan bought beers after. I got him drunk and told him all my training secrets. I think he spiked my beer. Whatever 'n hell happened - it sure was a kick in the pants.
