OK all you dog breaths, here's my view of the truth what went down tonight… some may try to dispute it… but don't belive em—–. The adrenaline was so thick at the start you didn't need to put your blade in the water, just along side your boat. DJ had a full ref's shirt on with a whistle, helmetcam and an air horn. Look for the posted film soon.We had a separate start for the tarnished group, but wouldn't you know it,everyone started anyway. LarryB and Revers started right next to me which made me nervous as hell cuz I was sure they were plotting something. Well Revers took off at 8.9, I'm thinking, “that's impressive, what's gonna blow up? I hope DJ brought that AED”.Then as Revers said at the Copper Hog later,“ it's kinda drafty in here tonight”. And there may have been some of that by all parties. Anyway, towards the end, with about 3/4 mile to go around a corner, Larry B catches some wave and pulls along side, Kim slows down to get out of the way and pulled in front of Larry which, sad to say, slowed him down. Now we all agreed , it's 2 outta 3. However, we all had personal bests, made the 27 club. Larry G also had his fastest time. Thanks for pushing me guys. Thanks to Kim also for the ride. That was a fun nite and good beer. And it did Ache on the Lake. D

It was a new version of “All in the Family”. After an independant start, Duncan craftly teamed up with Kim. Clearly pre-race strategy, cleverly thinking that he could draft Kim and keep me and Reivers at bay. Quite clever, but I hung on to him in spite of the pain. Duncan kept looking over his shoulder and saying “Jesus”. After about the fifth time, and as bad as my chest hurt, I was too nervous to look around and see who was drafting me, thinking my time had come!
At the gazebo,I caught a wave and took the inside corner to pass Duncan and draft Kims bow wake. At which time Kim pulls a Scherrer and starts angling off the course, pushing me into the reeds, and allowing Duncan time to squeak ahead of me. “All in the Family”
Had I not already blown a head gasket and started bleeding from the ears I probably would have cared. It actuallly gave me a graceful way to save face losing to Duncan. Thanks Kim!
And thanks for the beer afterward Duncan. This will be one race I won't forget!

It was raw testosterone, adrenalyne, cunning, heroic, giga-normous fun. Probably the best manouvers were before and after the race. My favorite was Duncan explaining how Kim decided to, you know, get out of the way of the mano-a-mano at the particular time when LB was vulnerable. And you know he couldn't see behind or anything.
hehe. good stuff boys. I'm up for the next round. bring it. In my part of the pack MG and Marc crashed chasing an important ride - worked out great. (Marc is $20 enough for doing it again next week?) Overall, this water is too damn flat. We need some three to six footers before I can hang with you muscle-boys.
times fun, when you're having flies.
