For those that haven't read it, the write up with photos, mapetc, on Surfski.info in the forum section, (home page) on a incident on the Maliko run, Hawaii, which many of us have done and can relate to, is really worth a look and ponder.

The initiator of the thread (LaPerouseBay) is the surfskier who was rescued. Decision making under stress. The TED video included is worth watching all of the way through too.
