Any opinions on which weed guards are the best?

The Epic one is nice and thin and can be taped to the hull.
Vaikobi had one at the gorge (can't find it on the web site) but it was a single fin that required boat sanding and gluing.
Are there others?
BTW, how sad is it being back from the Gorge?

A cut in half Bic pen lid (length ways)used to work for many years.
Cheap
Glue on.
Off you go.
My Huki Oc1 had one. It worked.
My friend Calvin told me about it.
Good luck Gav.

The Fenn ones are good but require a bit of modification for outriggers. (The base is flat, but the hull on an Ares is round, so a heat gun quickly allows you to reshape the guards base).

I agree with Beau… Fenn is good, but requires some attention. I’ve been super pleased with the ones I put on my single and double :)
Thanks to some tutelage from Beau!

Another option; ever since I got my weedless rudder from Don Kiesling, I haven't had an issue with weeds at all. The angle of attack that his weedless rudder has, allows the even the craziest of eelgrass to slip down and past the rudder. Highly recommended.
